Can i use alpaca products as an allergy sufferer?

Wool allergies are extremely rare. Most allergy sufferers are allergic to dyes used in wool processing, or to preservatives, bleaches and softeners used in wool products.

The direct allergic reaction to wool is due to residues of wool fat - the so-called lanolin . Lanolin is a natural substance produced by sheep.

Tip:If you want to know whether you are allergic to alpaca wool, visit one of the many breeders and grab the fluffy fur.

Alpaca wool is usually natural and does not contain lanolin, so allergy sufferers often tolerate alpaca products well.

Tip:Our alpaca duvets do not contain lanolin!
